THE HOT PLATE>
The large easy clean ceramic-glass hotplate has five cooking areas, two are 'dual zones' which provide a choice of cooking area. You may heat just the inner zone - ideal for small pans and a bonus for gentle simmering. Or you can select both inner and outer zones together for larger diameter pans. The versatile dual area in the centre offers a circular zone for pans, plus a really useful elongated area for oval dishes, casseroles etc.
All five heating zones are powered by hi-tech Series 7 ribbon elements. They give one of the fastest boil times of any ceramic element in the world. Visual indication is instantaneous - only three seconds light-up time and as an added safeguard 'residual heat indicator lights' - i.e. hot hob warning lights. These stay on as long as any zone is still hot, even after switching off; the warning lights go off only when the area is cool to touch.
